Concerning Issues.
During our workshop it became evident to me that the vast amount of people had very little or no control over what their feeds were actually showing them. Current social media services are designed around showing you what the they want, not what you want. They are by design, fostering a unhealthy environment that is made to keep you scrolling for as long as possible.
Excessive and intrusive advertising, disturbing content and bots were also mentioned many times. The fact that these issues were talked about with such normalcy surrounding them was very disturbing to me.

A few classmates and I hosted a workshop on the topic of social media. The goal was to gain insights into what our participants liked, disliked, and most importantly, how they felt about the experience overall and how it impacts their daily lives.
